Bartley Craig Burleson, 27, Brilliant went flying twice Monday. Once in his Kia which one witnesses said had passed him on double yellow lines doing at least 100 mph. Burleson was northbound on highway 13 South just past CR 3 south of Delmar when his car left the road. The Kia hit an

embankment,became airborne, hit another embankment, became airborne again, flipped completely over and landed right side up just off the highway. Burleson was transported by Air Evac helicopter to UAB. Alabama State Trooper Holt investigated the accident. No one else was involved in the mishap. Charges against Craig Burleson will include Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Illegal Possession of Prohibited Liquor (IPPL) and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
